About Unidoc

Unidoc Healthcare Pvt. Ltd. is building a next-generation, cloud-based hospital software platform (EMR / HIMS) to digitize OPD, IPD, lab, pharmacy, billing and reports for small to mid-size hospitals in India. Our goal is to make hospital workflows simpler, faster and more transparent for doctors, staff and management.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Chief Medical Officer (CMO) who is:

  • A qualified doctor (MBBS; MD/ DNB preferred)
  • Tech-savvy, comfortable with EMR / hospital software
  • Confident in sales conversations and product demos with doctors & hospital management
  • Able to understand real pain points of hospital staff (doctors, nurses, front office, billing, lab, pharmacy) and convert them into product requirements

You will be the clinical face of Unidoc – bridging between hospitals and our product/tech team.

Key Responsibilities1. Clinical & Product Leadership

  • Act as the primary clinical voice for Unidoc’s EMR/HIMS platform.
  • Understand OPD, IPD, emergency, lab, pharmacy and billing workflows in detail.
  • Translate real-world hospital pain points into clear product requirements and workflows for the tech team.
  • Review product features, give clinical validation and ensure they are safe, practical and doctor-friendly.

2. Sales, Product Demos & Client Engagement

  • Conduct product demos for doctors, hospital owners, administrators and nursing staff in Ahmedabad and surrounding areas.
  • Join the sales team in hospital meetings, help build trust and answer clinical/operational questions.
  • Explain how Unidoc can fit into their current workflow and improve efficiency, documentation and patient care.
  • Support the sales team in closing pilot projects and long-term contracts by providing clinical credibility.

3. Implementation & Training

  • Work closely with hospital staff during implementation and go-live phases.
  • Conduct training sessions for doctors, nurses and administrative staff on how to use Unidoc.
  • Collect feedback during pilots, prioritize issues, and coordinate with the product/tech team to resolve them.
  • Help design SOPs and best practices for hospitals using Unidoc.

4. Clinical Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure that product workflows follow standard clinical practices, documentation norms and medico-legal sensibilities.
  • Provide inputs on clinical documentation, prescription formats, discharge summaries, and reporting templates.
  • Work with the leadership team on clinical quality, patient safety and data privacy standards.

5. Internal Leadership & Strategy

  • Work directly with the Founder/Director on product roadmap from a clinical perspective.
  • Contribute to market positioning, value propositions and messaging for doctors and hospitals.
  • Mentor internal team members (sales, product, support) to better understand hospital workflows.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Education:
  • MBBS is mandatory.
  • MD / DNB / equivalent in any clinical speciality is preferred but not compulsory.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum 3+ years of post-MBBS clinical experience in a hospital setting (ward, OPD, IPD, emergency, ICU, etc.).
  • Experience interacting closely with hospital operations: nursing, billing, lab, pharmacy, front desk, TPA, etc.
  • Prior exposure to hospital information systems / EMR / health-tech products is strongly preferred.
  • Location:
  • Based in Ahmedabad, with willingness to travel to nearby hospitals for demos and implementations.

Skills & Competencies

  • Tech-Savvy:
  • Comfortable using computers, mobile apps, EMR/HIS/LIS or similar software.
  • Ability to quickly understand new features and demonstrate them confidently.
  • Communication & Sales Orientation:
  • Strong communication skills in Gujarati, Hindi and English (spoken and written).
  • Confident speaker; able to lead hospital presentations and one-on-one discussions with senior doctors.
  • Natural inclination towards relationship building, persuasion and closing deals.
  • Clinical & Operational Understanding:
  • Deep understanding of day-to-day hospital workflows and pain points for doctors and staff.
  • Practical mindset: knows what can actually work in a busy OPD or IPD.
  • Ownership & Startup Mindset:
  • Comfortable working in a startup environment with evolving processes.
  • High sense of ownership, willingness to get hands dirty during pilots and implementations.
  • Problem-solving attitude and ability to work closely with tech and non-tech team members.

Nice-to-Have

  • Prior experience in health-tech startups, EMR/HIMS companies, telemedicine, or digital health.
  • Experience as Medical Superintendent, Clinical Coordinator, or Hospital Administrator.
  • Familiarity with NABH processes or other quality initiatives.

Compensation

  • Salary: ₹60,000 – ₹1,00,000 per month, depending on experience, interview performance and fit.
