Child Care Teacher (Afternoons)- M-F 2:00 to 6:00 After School Program

This job posting is for school age children. This is one of the more challenging groups. We need someone who is dedicated to providing structure, behavior management strategies, and a positive attitude. Ideal candidate will keep them busy with the activities we provide and minimize disruptions. If you want more hours, we may be able to accommodate by giving morning shifts in addition to the M-F 2-6 schedule.

About us:

Sprinkles ELA is an early learning center for children. We accept students from 6 weeks to 5 years of age as well as school-age children for after-school care, holiday care, and summer care.

The ideal candidate has experience working with children. They are friendly, energetic, and passionate about child care. They must be able to get down on the children's level to interact with them throughout the day. They must be able to follow schedules and lesson plans and come up with fun activities to do with the children. They must be able to display empathy and understanding for children's emotions. We prefer people who want to form bonds with the children and get to know them as individuals. We find that this allows children to give trust and therefore more respect to their teachers. It allows for a less chaotic classroom.

The ideal candidate is also able to memorize and follow all the state rules and regulations regarding childcare. They are able to keep the classroom and bathroom organized and sanitized.

Responsibilities:

• Accountable for the safety of each child in your assigned classroom
• Maintaining organization and sanitization of classroom
• Follow lesson plans and classroom schedule
• Changing diapers, potty training, etc.
• Encouraging learning with planned activities, books, songs, etc
• Circle time
• Outdoor time- weather permitting
• Daily assigned chore (such as deep cleaning toys, taking out trash, vacuuming, etc.)

Pay: $9.00 per hour
