We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Child Welfare Training Officer to design, deliver, and evaluate training programs for child welfare staff, foster parents, and partner agencies. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, hands-on experience in child welfare services, and the ability to create engaging training content that improves service delivery and child safety outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and deliver training programs related to child protection, foster care, adoption, case management, and family support services.
Conduct needs assessments to identify training gaps and recommend improvements.
Facilitate classroom, virtual, and on-the-job training sessions for new and existing staff.
Create comprehensive training materials such as manuals, presentations, guides, and e-learning modules.
Mentor and support staff to improve knowledge, skills, and performance in child welfare policies and best practices.
Collaborate with internal teams, supervisors, and community partners to ensure training programs meet organizational standards.
Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, feedback forms, and performance metrics.
Stay updated on child welfare regulations, federal/state guidelines, and emerging trends.
Maintain accurate training records, reports, and documentation.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
Minimum 2–4 years of experience in child welfare, social services, or training and development.
Strong understanding of child protection laws, casework practices, and welfare programs.
Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
Ability to create engaging curriculum and training materials.
Proficient in MS Office Suite; experience with LMS/e-learning platforms is a plus.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Skills
Experience training child welfare or human services staff.
Knowledge of trauma-informed care, behavioral health, or family engagement strategies.
Bilingual abilities (optional – add languages if required).
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Nashville, TN 37201
