Chiller Van Helper

Job Summary:

The Chiller Van Helper supports the driver in loading, unloading, and handling chilled and frozen food products while ensuring compliance with Dubai Municipality (DM) and UAE Food Code regulations. The helper plays a key role in maintaining hygiene, temperature control, and the safe transport of goods.

Key Responsibilities:

Loading & Unloading:

• Assist in loading pre-chilled or pre-frozen items following the LIFO method.
• Ensure goods are stacked properly without blocking air vents.
• Minimize door opening time during loading and delivery (less than 60 seconds).
• Record loading and unloading times as required.

Food Safety & Temperature Compliance:

• Support the driver in monitoring and recording temperature logs at dispatch and delivery.
• Ensure the cargo area remains clean, hygienic, and organized.
• Report any temperature deviations, product issues, or chiller malfunction to the driver/supervisor.

Hygiene & Safety:

• Follow PPE requirements (uniform, gloves, safety shoes, hairnets).
• Maintain cleanliness of cargo area before and after each trip.
• Assist in preventing contamination and ensuring proper handling of food products.
• Follow company safety rules—no smoking, eating, or sleeping inside the chiller van.

Operational Support:

• Accompany the driver throughout the delivery route.
• Ensure doors remain closed when idle and assist in securing the vehicle during stops.
• Help with client delivery confirmations and documentation when required.
• Support in post-trip cleaning and reporting any incidents or vehicle concerns.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Prior experience in food handling or delivery support preferred.
• Basic understanding of hygiene and temperature control.
• Ability to lift, move, and organize food products safely.
• Reliable, attentive, and able to follow SOPs and safety protocols.
• Good communication skills and teamwork with the driver.

Working Conditions:

• Work inside chilled/frozen environments during loading/unloading.
• Travel across Dubai according to delivery schedules.
