Job Summary

A leading utility services organization is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer (Senior Engineer V level) to support transmission and distribution (T&D) engineering projects. The role involves advanced structural and civil design analysis, pole foundation engineering, and providing technical leadership to support major utility infrastructure programs.

This position is ideal for a civil/structural engineer with strong PLS-CADD experience and deep knowledge of GO95, NESC, and ASCE standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform advanced structural and civil engineering analysis for transmission and distribution systems using PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole, and PLS-Caisson.
• Lead modeling, design, and analysis activities for T&D steel and wood pole structures.
• Review, design, and approve pole foundations, caissons, and structural components.
• Oversee QA/QC engineering processes to ensure full compliance with safety, regulatory, and design standards.
• Support construction teams with design clarifications, field inspections, and emergency restoration activities (storms, wildfires, equipment failure events).
• Maintain engineering documentation and update design specifications as needed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering groups, planners, and field personnel.
• Mentor and guide junior civil/structural engineers, providing technical instruction and leadership.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• Active California Civil PE License (required).
• 7+ years of experience in transmission and/or distribution line engineering design.
• Proficiency in PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole, and AutoCAD.
• Strong understanding of utility standards, including:
• GO95
• NESC
• ASCE structural codes

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with PLS-Caisson for foundation modeling.
• Experience with SPIDAcalc for structural calculations.

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM
• Contract Duration: 1 year
• Pay Rate: $109.19 per hour
