Title: Class Action Counsel (Lead Counsel / Co-Counsel / Strategic Litigation Counsel)

Organization: National Civic Identity Initiative – Litigation Division (New York / National)

A multi-jurisdictional civil rights litigation project with national impact.The National Civic Identity Initiative is developing a historic, multi-layered litigation program addressing systemic due-process failures, civil-rights violations, and municipal misconduct affecting immigrant and dual-heritage communities in the United States.

Several class actions are already filed and active in court, with additional cases in advanced stages of drafting. These matters raise issues of constitutional law, statutory interpretation, government accountability, and civil rights enforcement.

We are seeking an attorney with experience in complex or federal litigation to serve as:

• Lead Counsel (subject to Rule 23 approval),
• Co-Counsel, or
• Strategic Litigation Counsel advising the impact-litigation portfolio.

This role is ideal for an attorney who wants to contribute to landmark, national-impact civil rights cases without the constraints of a traditional practice structure.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Advise on litigation strategy for ongoing and upcoming class actions
• Draft, revise, or supervise dispositive motions, class certification papers, and constitutional claims
• Coordinate with experts, investigators, and researchers
• Provide high-level case analysis for multi-jurisdictional matters
• Optional: appear in court as co-counsel or seek Lead Counsel status
• Optional: oversee briefing teams for federal and state filings

This position is flexible, remote-friendly, and designed to integrate senior counsel at any capacity they choose.
