Purpose of the position
The Clinic RN has the responsibility for providing direct and indirect nursing care to assigned patients. Works under the direct and indirect supervision of the PACE Center Manager or designee, but is independent in the application of advanced nursing knowledge and skills. Manages complex clinical situations for which he/she is responsible.
Requirements for this position
  • Work effectively in a team environment.
  • Communicate effectively and openly with other Interdisciplinary Team members on patient status and needs.
  • Only act within the scope of his/her authority to practice.
  • Meet a standardized set of competencies for the specific position description established by Sunrise PACE and approved by regulatory agencies before working independently.
  • Be medically cleared for communicable diseases and have all immunizations up-to-date before engaging in direct patient contact.
  • Pass a criminal background which will verify that the candidate is: not excluded from participation in Medicare and Medicaid programs; has not been convicted of criminal offenses related to their involvement in Medicaid, Medicare, other health insurance or health care programs, or social services programs under title XX of the Act; and have not been convicted of physical, sexual, drug or alcohol abuse.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current RN license in good standing to practice in the state of Michigan.
  • Minimum 3 years RN clinical experience with either have one year of experience working with a frail or elderly population or, in the absence of such experience, to receive appropriate training from the Sunrise PACE on working with a frail or elderly population upon hiring. Relevant experience must be within the last 3 years.
  • Other training as required by the department.
  • Clinical nursing treatment of geriatric patients and their acute and chronic conditions.
  • Basic computer skills and use of electronic mail.

  • Physical demands: Employee must be able to sit for extended periods of time. Employee will also be actively present throughout the PACE center, engaged with employees, participants and with staff. Employee is required to use hands and fingers, especially for typing on the computer and using the mouse. Employee must be able to talk and hear, particularly for daily interactions with staff and elderly participants
  • Work Environment: Employee must be able to work in a busy and demanding clinic environment with moderate to loud noise levels.
