Role Overview

The Cloud Infrastructure Architect will design, govern, and continuously optimize DAMAC's hybrid and multi-cloud infrastructure landscape. The role aligns with business needs, industry standards, and cost-efficiency targets while driving innovation through automation, AI, and best-in-class cloud practices.

This position plays a pivotal role in defining DAMAC's reference architecture for infrastructure services, managing multi-cloud strategies, and ensuring optimized usage of cloud resources across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

• Define, maintain, and evolve reference architecture for cloud, network, and infrastructure services.
• Design scalable, secure, and cost-optimized multi-cloud solutions (Azure, AWS, GCP, Oracle Cloud).
• Ensure architectural compliance with DAMAC standards, security frameworks, and SLA obligations.
• Partner with application and business teams to support ERP, CRM, AI, Data & Digital platforms.
• Establish a FinOps framework to track, analyze, and optimize consumption and costs.
• Implement automation and AI-driven scaling to improve efficiency.
• Negotiate cost-effective cloud service contracts with procurement and vendors.
• Report cloud cost, utilization, and optimization outcomes to the VP IT Infrastructure.

Governance & Operations Support

• Define and enforce cloud governance policies covering security, compliance, performance, and cost.
• Collaborate with external partners to ensure delivery meets SLAs and architectural standards.
• Participate in vendor management and performance reviews for cloud providers.
• Support audits, risk assessments, and compliance checks.
• Research emerging technologies (AI-driven ops, container orchestration, serverless, edge computing).
• Recommend improvements to DAMAC's infrastructure roadmap.
• Drive automation initiatives for provisioning, monitoring, and incident response.
• Act as a trusted advisor to business and technology stakeholders.
• Mentor junior engineers in best practices and architecture principles.
• Align infrastructure architecture with the Cybersecurity team's posture.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
• 10+ years in IT infrastructure, with 5+ years in cloud architecture roles.
• Deep expertise in at least two major cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP, Oracle, Salesforce Cloud).
• Strong experience in multi-cloud and hybrid environments.
• Proven experience with cost optimization and capacity planning.
• Hands on background in networking, virtualization, storage, and containerization (Kubernetes, Docker).
• Familiarity with AI-driven cloud management and automation tools.
• Excellent stakeholder management and vendor management skills.

• Delivery and adoption of reference architecture across all infrastructure projects.
• Increased automation ratio in cloud and infrastructure operations.
• Zero major audit findings, maintaining strong compliance posture.
