As a Cloud Sales Engineer, you will serve as the primary technical advisor supporting the Sales organization in designing secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud solutions.
You will play a key role throughout the pre-sales cycle by understanding customer requirements, architecting tailored solutions, and ensuring smooth transitions into implementation. Responsibilities
- Partner with Sales team members to qualify opportunities and design cloud architectures aligned with customer needs
- Lead technical discovery sessions to gather requirements, identify challenges, and recommend optimal designs
- Develop solution diagrams, proposals, and TCO/ROI analyses to articulate technical and business value
- Deliver product demonstrations, Proof of Concepts (POCs), and performance benchmarks to validate proposed solutions
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure seamless solution delivery from pre-sales through implementation
- Architect solutions leveraging OpenStack and maintain a strong understanding of AWS, Azure, GCP, and hybrid/multi-cloud environments
- Recommend best practices in automation, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible), and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker)
- Integrate security, monitoring, and observability into all solution designs
- Conduct workshops and enablement sessions to support customer adoption and satisfaction
- Share customer insights to influence internal product roadmaps, sales strategies, and technical marketing initiatives
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Solutions Engineering, Solution Architecture, or Pre-Sales roles within cloud, hosting, or SaaS environments
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms, including OpenStack as well as AWS, Azure, and GCP
- Understanding of virtualization, networking, high-availability architectures, VPNs, and firewalls
- Hands-on experience with containers and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm), automation and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible), and CI/CD platforms (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions)
- Familiarity with security and compliance concepts such as IAM, encryption, and frameworks including SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, and HIPAA
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog) and cloud pricing models
- Ability to translate technical concepts into clear business value for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills with the ability to lead technical discussions
- Relevant certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, GCP Cloud Architect, or OpenStack certifications are considered an advantage
- Familiarity with AI agents, MCP servers, and the use of AI within cloud infrastructure
- Excellent knowledge of English, written and spoken
