Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Commercial Paint Estimator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately estimating painting projects, preparing detailed bids, and collaborating with clients and project managers to ensure successful project execution. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse construction projects, utilizing your expertise in estimation, pricing, and project management to contribute to the company's growth and success.

Duties

  • Prepare comprehensive paint estimates by analyzing project plans, specifications, and site conditions using Bluebeam and HeavyBid software.
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, and suppliers to negotiate pricing and scope of work to secure profitable contracts.
  • Develop detailed cost estimates including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs while maintaining accuracy and competitiveness.
  • Assist in the development of project budgets and monitor costs throughout the project lifecycle to ensure adherence to financial targets.
  • Review construction plans and specifications to identify potential challenges or cost-saving opportunities.
  • Coordinate with construction management teams to ensure estimates align with project timelines and scope.
  • Manage contracts related to painting projects, ensuring compliance with all contractual obligations and quality standards.
  • Support project management teams by providing accurate estimates for bidding purposes and assisting in contract negotiations.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials, pricing strategies, and best practices in construction estimating.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in construction estimating with a focus on painting projects; familiarity with Bluebeam, HeavyBid, and other estimating software is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, site management, cost control, and contract administration within the construction industry.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to establish favorable terms while maintaining professional relationships.
  • Demonstrated experience in construction site management or supervision is a plus.
  • Ability to interpret complex construction drawings and specifications accurately.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in estimating and documentation processes.
  • Effective communication skills for collaborating with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Knowledge of project management principles relevant to construction projects is desirable.
