At Salmontini, we deliver elevated dining experiences rooted in refined French culinary techniques and premium-quality ingredients. We are seeking a Commis 3 – Hot Section (Temporary Contract) to support our kitchen team and contribute to the preparation of our signature hot dishes. This role is ideal for someone starting their culinary journey who is eager to learn, develop, and gain hands-on experience in an established, high-performing French-inspired kitchen. Knowledge of sushi preparation is considered an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in basic preparation and mise en place for hot dishes, following instructions from senior chefs.
  • Support the Hot Section with fundamental tasks such as chopping, peeling, portioning, marinating, and basic cooking preparation.
  • Learn and assist with essential French cooking methods including sautéing, grilling, roasting, and basic sauce foundations.
  • Follow recipes and portioning guidelines to maintain consistency and quality.
  • Maintain strict hygiene, sanitation, and food safety standards at all times.
  • Keep workstations clean, organized, and properly stocked throughout service.
  • Assist with receiving, labeling, and storing ingredients, ensuring proper stock rotation (FIFO).
  • Support smooth kitchen operations by communicating effectively and working cohesively with the team.
  • Show initiative, maintain discipline, and demonstrate willingness to learn and develop toward higher responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in the Hot Section.
  • Basic understanding of French culinary techniques or strong interest in learning them.
  • Knowledge of sushi preparation is an advantage.
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Good teamwork and communication skills.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Culinary training or certification is a plus but not required — enthusiasm and willingness to learn are highly valued.

Job Type: Temporary

Pay: AED100.00 - AED125.00 per day
