River Country Co-op is seeking a highly skilled Commodities Manager in Owen, WI to oversee the strategic sourcing, procurement, and management of key commodities critical to our business operations. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, market insight, and supplier relationship expertise to optimize cost, ensure supply stability, and support organizational growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement commodity strategies to support cost efficiency, quality, and supply continuity.
  • Monitor global market trends, pricing, supply risks, and economic indicators impacting assigned commodities.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure contracts, and manage long-term supply agreements.
  • Work with our direct ship customers and manage the relationship with those customers.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations and Logistics to forecast demand and align purchasing strategy with business needs.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities through strategic sourcing, alternative suppliers, and improved processes.
  • Analyze data to provide accurate pricing forecasts, budget inputs, and cost models.
  • Mitigate risks in the supply chain through proactive planning, contracting, oversight of commodity DPR and contingency strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Economics, or a related field is preferred or 3 years of experience.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Proven ability to analyze market data, economic trends, and pricing structures.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, problem-solving abilities and ability to pass on market information to our customers.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and Microsoft Office.

  • Experience with agriculture commodities.
  • Excellent customer communication.
  • Hedging and managing commodity position.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
