About Us

Love INC of Muskegon County is a Christ-centered nonprofit dedicated to helping local churches meet the tangible needs of our Neighbors through relational, dignifying support. We operate multiple ministries, including the Love Café (our pay-what-you-can restaurant), the Love It Again Resale Store, and a wide range of assistance programs aimed at transforming lives and fostering community.

We are seeking a Communications Coordinator who is creative, organized, and passionate about telling stories that inspire generosity, engagement, and hope.

Position Summary

The Communications Coordinator will lead and manage all internal and external communication for Love INC, Love Café, and Love It Again Resale Store. This role combines hands-on content creation, social media management, storytelling, and marketing strategy. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can create compelling digital and print content that strengthens donor relationships, engages volunteers, and increases community visibility.

A college degree is not required — we care about skill, creativity, and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

Digital & Social Media (Major Focus)

  • Create, schedule, and manage content across all organizational social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn).
  • Develop and maintain a consistent brand voice for Love INC, Love Café, and Love It Again.
  • Track analytics, trends, and engagement to continually improve performance.
  • Capture photos and videos regularly at events, volunteer activities, and the café.

Print & Digital Media Creation

  • Design print materials including brochures, flyers, postcards, posters, and event signage.
  • Create digital graphics, short-form videos, and marketing assets.
  • Manage relationships with printers and coordinate timely production.

Storytelling & Communication

  • Gather and tell Neighbor, volunteer, and donor stories with dignity and respect.
  • Write email newsletters, press releases, impact stories, and donor communication pieces.
  • Maintain brand consistency across all communication channels.

Donor & Volunteer Support

  • Support development efforts with donor communications, campaign materials, and thank-you pieces.
  • Support volunteer recruitment and engagement through clear and uplifting messaging.

Marketing Leadership Across All Entities

  • Lead communication efforts for:
  • Love INC
  • Love Café
  • Love It Again Resale Store
  • Coordinate with leadership to ensure unified messaging and timely updates for each.

Qualifications

Required

  • Demonstrated skill in social media management (please send a portfolio).
  • Strong writing and storytelling ability.
  • Ability to create simple photo/video content (editing experience a plus).
  • Basic graphic design abilities (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar).
  • High level of organization and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit.
  • Ability to represent Love INC’s mission and values with dignity and respect.

Preferred

  • Experience in nonprofit communication, marketing, or fundraising.
  • Familiarity with donor and volunteer engagement strategies.
  • Experience with website content management (WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, or similar).
  • Photography or videography experience

Work Schedule & Compensation

  • Flexible scheduling with occasional evening/weekend events
  • Compensation based on experience
  • Hourly position with potential of being salary

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
