Pay Range: $24.66 to $36.99

Actual pay will be based on various factors, such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, proficiency for the role, and internal equity. In addition to base pay, Kwik Trip gives 40% of pre-tax profits back to our coworkers with bonuses ranging from 8-12% of each coworker’s gross annual wage depending on company profitability and offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, 401k, paid time off, and more.


The selected Compensation Analyst 1 will work with our Compensation team answering coworker and leader’s questions, evaluating positions, as well as maintaining our complex compensation structures in order to ensure our pay programs attract and retain top talent, as well as support our award-winning culture.


Job Functions:

Work as a team to:

  • Ensure pay practices are internally equitable and externally competitive within our markets and industries
  • Ensure practices are compliant with all federal and state requirements
  • Gather information and work with the Compensation team to make recommendations regarding development of company salary structure and progress/movement of individual co-workers within their range
  • Assists with review and analysis of pay equity within the organization
  • Assist with job pricing evaluations for new and existing jobs (750+)
  • Assist HRIS and leadership with SuccessFactors Compensation module to support efficiency and perform analytics
  • Complete custom and standardized compensation surveys
  • Answering compensation related questions
  • Researching new store locations for market analysis
  • Perform audits for payout changes
  • Updating compensation documents as needed


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance or related fields or relevant work experience.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • General understanding of the Fair Labor Standards Act and ability to provide guidance to internal customers regarding pay classification
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Outstanding customer service skills and proven ability to protect confidential information
  • High attention to detail, well organized and able to create/maintain effective documentation
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from individuals or groups of co-workers and/or leaders.
  • Must be able to handle multiple projects/tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines
  • Ability to effectively work as a team member and individual contributor
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Must live in La Crosse, WI area

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years previous Compensation experience
  • Advanced Excel skills such as VLOOKUPs, formulas, pivot tables, etc.
  • Experience working with compensation surveys and/or compensation data management tools
  • Experience working in HRIS systems; SuccessFactors experience is a plus


Work Schedule:
Monday through Friday, daytime hours.
