We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Concrete Finisher with strong commercial and ADA-compliant construction experience to join our team. This role is critical in delivering high-quality concrete work for commercial sites, residential builds, and ADA-regulated projects. You will shape, smooth, and finish concrete surfaces to ensure durability, safety, and full compliance with local, state, and federal standards. Your craftsmanship and attention to detail will help us consistently meet the expectations of property owners, general contractors, inspectors, and regulatory agencies.

Duties

  • Prepare concrete surfaces by setting forms, installing rebar, and ensuring proper elevations and slopes according to commercial plans and ADA requirements, including cross-slopes, ramps, and walkway specifications.
  • Operate power and hand tools such as trowels, floats, screeds, and edgers to achieve smooth, level, and compliant finishes on slabs, sidewalks, drive approaches, and commercial flatwork.
  • Apply finishing techniques including floating, troweling, brooming, and edging to meet both aesthetic and ADA traction requirements.
  • Work alongside project managers, foremen, and crew members to handle commercial-grade pours, heavy lifting, and equipment operation safely and efficiently.
  • Manage and operate concrete mixers, pumps, and related equipment to ensure consistent and timely material placement on larger commercial sites.
  • Perform repairs or restoration on sidewalks, ramps, curbs, and other structures to bring them into ADA compliance when required.
  • Interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and ADA detail sheets with accuracy to ensure proper layout, elevations, drainage, and finish specifications.
  • Assist with related scopes such as stucco repair, masonry, tile setting, or minor carpentry when required for project completion.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety standards while working around heavy equipment, traffic control zones, commercial job sites, and confined spaces.
  • Maintain accurate daily work logs and communicate progress and issues promptly to supervisors or project leads.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a concrete finisher specifically within commercial construction, municipal work, or ADA sidewalk/flatwork projects.
  • Strong understanding of ADA requirements including compliant slopes, tactile pads, accessible routes, ramp standards, and finish expectations.
  • Ability to read blueprints, grading plans, and commercial site drawings with accuracy.
  • Skilled in operating hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment such as concrete pumps, walk-behind trowels, and commercial finishing tools.
  • Knowledge of rebar installation, form setting, elevations, grading, and commercial pour techniques.
  • Familiarity with masonry, plastering, and stucco repair is a plus.
  • Experience in metal stud framing, trim carpentry, roofing, or flooring installation is advantageous.
  • Physical ability to perform heavy lifting, stand for extended periods, and work at heights when required.
  • Valid driver’s license. Ability to transport materials or equipment to and from job sites is preferred.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, ADA detail sheets, and written instructions to ensure precision and compliance.
