Job Description – Trainer / Consultant (Plantation Crop Cultivation – GAP & Organic Practices)

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Trainer/Consultant or an Agency with strong expertise in plantation crop cultivation, Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), and organic/natural input preparation. The role involves training smallholder farmers, developing package-of-practices, and supporting field-level interventions for crops such as coffee, pepper, turmeric, and ginger.

Qualifications & Technical Expertise (As per the document shared)

  • The implementation team should have relevant qualification and experience in plantation crop cultivation following GAP and organic/natural input preparation.
  • Ideally, the trainer should be a B.Sc. Agriculture, OR B.Sc. in Microbiology / Soil Science / Pathology.
  • Should have hands-on experience in preparing package of practices and interventions for smallholder farmers growing coffee, pepper, turmeric, and/or ginger.
  • Should have a proven track record of training and supporting farming communities to achieve better agricultural outcomes through GAP and natural/organic on-farm inputs–based interventions/package of practices.
  • Knowledge of Coffee and Spices cultivation package-of-practice requirements is essential.
  • Knowledge of ingredients allowed for Organic Certification will be a plus.
  • Should have experience in field extension services and working with tribal communities or smallholder farmers.
  • Should have strong training, facilitation, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to communicate in Telugu will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct farmer trainings on plantation crop cultivation, GAP, and natural/organic input preparation.
  • Develop and update package-of-practices (PoP) for relevant crops.
  • Provide on-field handholding support, monitoring, and demonstrations.
  • Coordinate with smallholder and tribal communities to ensure adoption of best practices.
  • Prepare training reports, field documentation, and regular progress updates.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹60,000.00 - ₹100,000.00 per month
