Role Description
This is a full-time role for a Consultant – Contracts and Claims, based in Istanbul, Türkiye. The Consultant will be responsible for providing strategic advice on contract formation, administration, and claims management throughout project lifecycles. For the first year, this position will be based remotely in Turkey. Following this period, the position will have a fixed location in the Netherlands.
What You’ll Be Doing
Claim Management:
· Assisting in the preparation of reports and supporting documentation for complex construction claims.
· Conducting detailed quantum analysis and presenting findings in structured, compelling formats.
· Reviewing project documentation, large datasets and gathering evidence relevant to claims.
· Supporting and collaborating with the claim team on case strategy and delivery.
· Liaising with client management, legal teams, and external consultants.
Contract Management:
· Preparing requests for proposal packages (RFP) and evaluation and awarding of contracts (bidders list, prequalification, forming and issuing RFPs, receipt and evaluation of bids.
· Managing the full lifecycle of construction contracts, from drafting and negotiation to execution and close-out, ensuring compliance with relevant frameworks.
· Reviewing contract terms and conditions to identify and monitor areas of risk, ambiguities, conflicts, or deviations.
· Assist and manage contract administration activities (drafting contractual letters and variation orders, and following up on all contractual responsibilities)
· Preparing regular updates on contract status, risks, and issues for internal teams and clients, ensuring commercial and contractual awareness across the client team throughout the life of the project.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a construction-related discipline (Master’s degree preferred).
· 5–10 years’ experience in contract administration or contract management, preferably within large-scale construction projects.
· Proven experience in contract management, claims preparation, and dispute resolution within the construction sector.
· Exceptional attention to detail and ability to interpret complex data sets.
· Excellent and clear verbal and written communication skills, with strong proficiency in business English.
· Ability and willingness to travel as the assignment requires.
