We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced SAP BW Developer with Strong ABAP Skills to join our dynamic IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, maintenance, and support of our SAP Business Warehouse (BW) environment and integrating solutions using ABAP programming. This role requires a solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, excellent technical skills in SAP BW, and proficiency in ABAP for custom extractions, enhancements, and reporting logic.
Key Responsibilities:
- SAP BW Development: Design, develop, test, and implement data warehousing solutions in SAP BW (on HANA preferred, but not required), including data models (DSOs, Cubes, ADSOs, Composite Providers), transformations, DTPs, and process chains.
- Data Extraction & Loading: Configure and manage DataSources from SAP ECC/S/4HANA and non-SAP systems. Monitor and troubleshoot data loads and ensure data quality and integrity.
- ABAP Development: Utilize ABAP for writing and debugging custom extractors (Function Modules, Generic DataSources), enhancing standard extractors (BADI/User Exits), writing expert routines in transformations, and developing custom reporting logic.
- Performance Optimization: Analyze and optimize the performance of BW queries, data loads, and backend processes.
- Reporting: Design and develop reports and dashboards using SAP BW front-end tools (e.g., BEx Query Designer, Analysis for Office).
- Support & Maintenance: Provide ongoing maintenance, support, and troubleshooting for the existing SAP BW landscape, resolving incidents and implementing change requests.
- Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, including specifications, test plans, and run books.
- Collaboration: Work closely with business analysts and functional teams to gather requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and deliver effective solutions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in SAP BW development (modeling, extraction, data flow setup, and query design).
- Strong proficiency in ABAP programming (minimum 2 years of professional experience) specifically in the context of SAP BW, including:
- Custom Extractors development.
- Enhancements of standard extractors (user exits, BADIs).
- Expert and Start Routines in transformations.
- Familiarity with ABAP Objects is a plus.
- Solid understanding of core Data Warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
- Experience with SAP ECC/S/4HANA data structures and standard business processes (e.g., FI, CO, SD, MM).
- Experience in performance tuning of BW data flows and queries.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
