Contract WordPress Web Designer

About the Role: Keer Keer Creative, a growing boutique digital agency in Woodbury, MN, is seeking a talented Contract WordPress Web Designer to join our team. We specialize in website development, e-commerce, branding, and digital UX.

We are looking for a "hybrid" creative: someone who can design beautiful high-fidelity mockups in Adobe and build them pixel-perfectly into WordPress. We pride ourselves on staying ahead of the curve, so we are looking for a designer who understands not just how a website looks, but how it is read by both Google and the next generation of AI search tools.

Responsibilities:

• Design & Build: Design high-end user interfaces and build them out into responsive WordPress websites (specifically using the Avada theme).
• Future-Proof SEO: Implement standard SEO best practices and emerging AI Search Optimization strategies

This includes using structured data (Schema), optimizing for natural language search, and ensuring content is formatted for visibility in AI engines (like ChatGPT ).

• Client Collaboration: Collaborate with the Creative Director and clients during design interviews to translate their vision into reality.
• Asset Creation: Use Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator/Photoshop) to create refined website assets and icons.
• Project Management: Manage portions of client projects, meeting deadlines and communicating progress clearly.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of professional experience in WordPress web design with a strong portfolio.
• Location: Twin Cities (MN/WI) area preferred,but we are open to fully remote (US-based) candidates with the right skillset.

• Theme Proficiency: Strong familiarity with the Avada Theme/Fusion Builder (or a demonstrated ability to learn complex themes rapidly).
• Search Proficiency: Proven understanding of Technical SEO and an interest in AI Search Optimization (knowing how to structure web data for machines/LLMs).
• Design Tools: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator & Photoshop).
• Communication: Exceptional communication skills are a must. Comfortable conducting client interviews.

Bonus Skills (Great to have):

• HTML/CSS knowledge for custom styling.
• Experience with building Shopify eCommerce Stores
• Experience in branding and logo development.
• Familiarity with FTP/cPanel basics.

Compensation:

• $40-60 per hour, commensurate with experience.
