We are seeking a highly skilled Contract Writer to support the drafting, review, and management of procurement-related documentation, including purchase orders, service agreements, vendor contracts, and amendments. The ideal candidate will possess strong writing and analytical skills, a solid understanding of procurement processes, and the ability to develop precise, compliant, and effective contractual language tailored to business needs.
Draft, review, and edit documentation related to procurement activities, including purchase orders, service agreements, vendor contracts, modifications, and amendments.
Create and refine contract documentation such as scope of services, performance requirements, and terms and conditions.
Develop clear, consistent language that defines delivery, service quality, and pricing standards for procured goods and services.
Collaborate with internal departments and stakeholders to ensure compliance with organizational protocols, procedures, and business requirements.
Maintain and manage an internal documentation library and coordinate special documentation services as needed.
Provide oversight for special projects involving contract development or documentation improvements.
Develop custom contractual language based on evolving business needs, rather than relying solely on pre-existing templates.
Ensure all contract documents adhere to applicable policies, standards, and best practices.
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Legal Studies, Technical Writing, Business Administration, or a related field
– or – equivalent work experience.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of professional experience in business or technical writing with a focus on procurement processes and contract documentation.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple documentation projects simultaneously.
Complexity Level:
Intermediate professional-level role; works on moderately complex to complex document management projects as part of a team.
May provide mentorship or guidance to junior staff members.
Knowledge of federal, state, and local procurement laws and regulations.
Exceptional written and verbal communication and technical writing skills.
Strong collaboration skills to work with legal teams, procurement officers, and business stakeholders.
High attention to detail and accuracy, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
Excellent organizational and project management skills.
