Control Technician - Electrician

Job Title: Electrical Controls Technician

Job Summary:
The Electrical Controls Technician performs duties under the general direction of the Engineer. This position involves troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing, and modifying the plant’s electrical and computer-driven control systems. The role also includes the installation of electrical control panels and machine wiring as needed.

Job Requirements:

• Experience troubleshooting Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
• Familiarity with DC and AC motors, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), and servo-controlled systems.
• Knowledge of relay and discrete device control systems.
• Proficiency in using sensing and control devices.
• Experience with electrical diagnostic equipment, including multimeters, clamp meters, and megger.
• Preferred experience in electrical installations, including conduit and wiring practices.
• Ability to read equipment manuals, safety materials (MSDS), system drawings, Process and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs), electrical schematics, and blueprints.
• Proficient in using common hand tools and power tools safely, following OSHA and company safety guidelines.
• Strong ability to work cooperatively as a team member.

Job Duties:

• Troubleshoot electrical control-related process issues.
• Collaborate with production operators and maintenance personnel to resolve electrical issues with equipment and machines.
• Assist with system startups and operational checkouts, including wiring, calibration, grounding, and power testing.
• Utilize technical materials such as equipment manuals, MSDS, safety materials, system drawings, P&IDs, schematics, and blueprints for troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Conduct breakdown maintenance, preventive maintenance, and predictive maintenance.
• Oversee the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of machines.
• Willingness to work extended or flexible hours/shifts as required.

Technical Qualifications:

• ITI in Electrical / Diploma in Electrical Engineering

Educational Qualifications:

Higher Secondary Education

Pay: AED3,000.00 - AED4,000.00 per month
