Conventional Machinist

Job Description:
The Conventional Machinist is responsible for operating and maintaining manual machining equipment such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and other workshop tools. The machinist will produce precision parts based on technical drawings and specifications, ensuring accuracy, quality, and safety at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate manual lathe, milling, drilling, and grinding machines.
  • Read, interpret, and follow engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Manufacture, repair, and modify metal parts with high precision.
  • Measure and inspect finished products using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools.
  • Set up machines, select appropriate tools, and adjust machining parameters.
  • Ensure all work meets required quality and tolerance standards.
  • Maintain machines, tools, and work area in proper condition.
  • Follow all safety procedures, workshop protocols, and company guidelines.
  • Coordinate with engineers, supervisors, and team members as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a conventional machinist or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of manual machining operations and machine tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and measurement instruments.
  • Technical or vocational training in machining or related field.
  • Must be able to speak and understand English.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in metal fabrication.
  • Basic welding knowledge (optional).
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
