We are currently seeking a Copywriter who will be responsible for developing English content in line with Content Strategy and oversee all communications and marketing content across multiple platforms and formats to position and promote our client and its associated businesses in local and international markets.
Our client based in Abu Dhabi, a leading Semi-Government entity in the UAE and a global leader in its industry. This position is a long-term contract role with an initial duration of 12 months and is renewable.
Responsibilities:
- Develop English content (Arabic or other languages preferred) in line with the Content strategy and oversee all communications and marketing content across multiple platforms and formats
- Ensure that all narrative and messages are in support of the content strategy, working closely with the Communications and Marketing Directors, External & Internal Communication Managers and business units.
- Generate relevant and engaging content that meets the overall objectives and help positioning as industry leaders.
- Adhere to brand standards and content style guides, the narrative, tone of voice, as well as the overall expression of the business's corporate identity in the content it puts out.
- Develop first-class content including (but not limited to) Q&As, website content, speeches, video scripts, infographics, blogs, and data visualisation in order to ensure optimal delivery of content to target audiences across multiple channels.
- Manage and oversee the delivery of content as per agreed budget/timelines.
- Create engaging English content (Arabic or other languages preferred) that is aligned to business strategy and adheres to brand guidelines, internal and external communication policies, social media policy, and provides consistency in terms of style, quality, and tone.
- Enable structured content creation capabilities through the implementation of models and processes for sourcing information, analysing, and creating content.
- Coordinate and align with the internal and Corporate team, establishing clear milestones, deliverables and responsibilities, managing and problem solving issues or risks.
- Ensure clear communication of business objectives and assigned responsibilities, tracking and measuring against deadlines.
- Manage the end to end process for content creation.
- Support the long and short term business objectives, and determine which methods work best for the business, audiences, and channels.
- Keep abreast of content and industry developments/trends, leveraging knowledge to position and promote.
- Assess internal organisational or business operations and achievements to identify and recommend engaging content.
- Proactively build relationships within the organisation to ensure that relevant content is communicated effectively to the team.
- Understand and support the strategic objectives.
- Align communications and marketing content to the business strategy, advise on, influence best in class content and deliver as per SLAs.
- Collaborate with communications and marketing managers, the digital team, business and communication representatives, designers to ensure that content is aligned to company standards and promoted across the relevant channels.
- Collaborate with agencies to ensure that content is best in class and aligned to standards.
Qualifications:
- Excellent English (Arabic or other languages preferred) writing skills.
- Knowledge of implementing content strategies.
- Experience in ports, logistics, or maritime industry communication is preferred.
- Experience across journalism, corporate communications, and technical writing.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
- Ability to develop and document procedures and workflows.
- Ability to multitask and manage several projects simultaneously with attention to detail.
- Ability to create engaging and informative content.
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver tasks at short notice.
- Professional conduct, accountability, productive planning and problem solving competencies.
- Innovative, proactive, and creative writing skills.
- Excellent networking skills (stakeholder engagement) and interpersonal ability.
- Ability to establish a high level of credibility as a key representative.
- Bachelor's degree in communications and journalism.
- Proficiency in MS Office and experience in using Content Management Software is an advantage.
- Fluency in English is a must (Arabic or other languages preferred).
- 5+ years' experience in content development.
- Journalism and Corporate Communications writing and content development in English. (Arabic or other languages preferred).
