Job Title: Corporate Compliance Analyst

Location: Houston, TX

Reports to: VP, Corporate Regulatory Compliance

Employment Type: Full time; Hybrid (4 days in office, 1 day remote)

About the role

  • Ensures state and federal compliance with insurance and business practice regulatory requirements.
  • Assists with state insurance regulatory filings.
  • Conducts legal research.
  • Provides general assistance to the Chief Legal Officer, Corporate Compliance department, and business unit compliance personnel as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in insurance regulatory research relating to compliance issues presented.
  • Perform legal research and analysis of insurance laws and regulations.
  • Manage agency appointment and licensing efforts for several insurance company subsidiaries and individuals.
  • Act as backup for trade sanction monitoring including OFAC transaction and batch screening for assigned subsidiaries.
  • Preparation of written and verbal communications/presentations on areas of responsibility/expertise for presentation to compliance personnel.
  • Management of process related to officer and director biography completion and fingerprint requirements.
  • Assist with administrative matters related to the operations of Corporate Compliance including, but not limited to, management of user access, processing of invoices, coordination of special event planning, and assistance with travel and expense for Corporate Compliance personnel.
  • Assist Chief Legal Officer with administrative matters including, but not limited to, transcription of Board and Committee meeting minutes, drafting of correspondence, management of CLE requirements, assistance with external auditors as part of audits, and assistance with travel and expenses.

What you bring

  • Associates degree in a related field with Paralegal degree preferred; OR no post-high school degree required but 5+ years of experience in insurance regulatory field or in-house legal department experience.
  • Possess and have ability to apply knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Advanced organizational and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledgeable of industry changes, legal updates, and technical developments related to applicable area of the Company’s business to proactively respond to changing business environment.
  • Intermediate proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office package (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word).
