Position Overview
As our In-House Counsel, you will be the primary legal advisor for Meest America Inc., ensuring compliance with applicable laws, mitigating legal risks, and supporting business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and guidance to senior management and internal teams on corporate, commercial, employment, and regulatory matters.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents to protect company interests.
• Manage relationships with external legal counsel when specialized expertise is required, optimizing costs and efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including employment, commercial, and corporate governance matters.
• Support risk management initiatives, internal policies, and corporate governance practices.
• Proactively identify legal risks and develop strategies to minimize exposure.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and regulations impacting the company’s operations.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and admission to the state bar.
• Minimum of 3–7 years of experience in corporate law, ideally in-house or within a law firm serving corporate clients.
• Strong experience in contracts, corporate compliance, employment law, and risk management.
• Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and provide pragmatic legal advice aligned with business goals.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience working with logistics, international trade, or transportation sectors is a plus.
• Prior in-house counsel experience in a fast-growing company.
• Familiarity with managing outside legal counsel and optimizing legal spend.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
