About the Role
We are seeking a qualified
Cost Accountant
to join our Finance department and provide critical support in managing and controlling project costs across our construction portfolio. This role involves close coordination with project management, procurement, and site teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, cost efficiency, and adherence to budgetary controls.
Key Responsibilities
Cost Planning & Estimation

Analyze project drawings and bill of quantities to prepare cost estimates.

Assist in developing budget forecasts for different phases of construction projects.
Cost Monitoring & Reporting

Track ongoing project costs and identify any deviations from the budget.

Generate detailed cost performance reports on a weekly and monthly basis.

Maintain cost center allocations in line with site activities.
Budget Control & Compliance

Ensure expenditures align with approved budgets and contractual terms.

Support monthly and annual financial closings by validating actual costs and outstanding commitments.
Cross-Department Collaboration

Collaborate with procurement, engineering, and site operations to gather cost-related data.

Participate in project review meetings and provide cost control insights to management.
Documentation & Audit Support

Maintain accurate cost documentation for audits and internal reviews.

Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and financial procedures.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in cost accounting within the construction industry.

Strong knowledge of project accounting and cost control methodologies.

Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365.

CMA certification is preferred.
