Costing Engineer

Key Responsibilities

1. Cost Estimation & Analysis

- Prepare detailed cost estimates for components, assemblies, and finished products.

- Evaluate BOM, routing, cycle time, and resource consumption.

- Analyze direct & indirect costs.

- Perform should-cost analysis and price benchmarking.

2. Production & Process Costing

- Study manufacturing drawings, specifications, and engineering changes.

- Analyze machining, fabrication, assembly, and inspection processes.

- Estimate machine costing based on cycle time and productivity.

3. Material Costing

- Verify material cost with purchase team & vendor quotes.

- Maintain and update material cost database.

4. Profitability & Variance Analysis

- Conduct cost variance analysis vs. standards.

- Identify cost deviations and recommend solutions.

5. Cost Optimization

- Identify cost-saving opportunities.

- Conduct value engineering (VE) and value analysis (VA).

6. Documentation & Reporting

- Prepare costing sheets, cost break-ups, RFQ costing, and management reports.

7. Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Work with Engineering, Production, Purchase, Finance and Management.

Required Skills & QualificationsEducation

- BE / B.Tech (Mechanical / Industrial / Production Engineering).

Experience

- 4–7 years of costing experience in manufacturing.

Technical Skills

- Knowledge of machining, fabrication, assembly processes.

- Understanding of BOM, routing, cycle time & tooling.

- ERP systems and MS Excel proficiency.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹300,000.00 - ₹700,000.00 per year
