The Alaska Court System is seeking two highly motivated and detail-oriented professionals to serve as Criminal Division Court Case Managers 1. These positions offer a unique opportunity to perform a wide range of duties on a rotational basis, all of which are essential to ensuring the efficient operation of the court. The incumbents will manage criminal case files from initiation through disposition, including reviewing filings for compliance with statutes and court rules, preparing cases for arraignments and hearings, processing bail, monitoring warrants, and completing accurate data entry in CourtView. Additional responsibilities include processing judgments, routing sensitive documents, and coordinating closely with justice partners. All duties require a high level of attention to detail, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, solid knowledge of criminal rules, statutes, policies, and procedures, and strong computer skills to ensure accuracy and efficiency in data entry.
The incumbents will also provide exemplary customer service as primary points of contact for court patrons, attorneys, and partner agencies. Responsibilities include assisting customers at the public counter and by phone, reviewing and accepting filings, responding to inquiries within established guidelines, managing individual cash drawers in compliance with accounting procedures, and facilitating public access to court records. Successful candidates will demonstrate professionalism, sound judgment, and the ability to prioritize tasks while maintaining courteous and effective service. The Work Hours
Full-time court employees are currently scheduled to work 37.5 hours per week. The work hours for this position are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a one-hour lunch break.
The Fairbanks Trial Court is located in the beautiful Rabinowitz Courthouse at 101 Lacey Street in Downtown Fairbanks. Our building is located next to Golden Heart Plaza, the Alaska Siberia World War II Memorial, several bike paths, and the Chena River. Graduation from high school or completion of a General Education Development (GED) certificate AND one year of office clerical experience.
Substitution:
Additional office clerical work experience will substitute for the high school diploma or GED certificate on a month-for-month basis.
Completion of 36 semester credit hours or 48 quarter credit hours of coursework from an accredited college will substitute for the year of required office clerical experience.
Completion of an appropriate vocational training course of study such as legal secretary, paralegal, or office skills will substitute for the required office clerical experience on a month-for-month basis.

SELECTION PROCEDURE
Applicants will be required to meet the Minimum Qualifications as outlined above. Unfortunately, we cannot always interview all applicants.
