Dance Teacher

Position: Dance Teacher
Institution: BDW International School, Shillong
Location: Shillong, Meghalaya

Key Responsibilities

• Teach dance to students across different age groups, following a structured and engaging curriculum.
• Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons that support artistic expression, creativity, discipline, and physical development.
• Prepare students for school events, assemblies, cultural functions, competitions, and annual day performances.
• Choreograph age-appropriate dance routines in various styles (Classical, Contemporary, Folk, Western, etc.).
• Maintain records of student progress and performance evaluations.
• Collaborate with teachers and coordinators for integrated learning and event planning.
• Ensure student safety and maintain discipline during classes and rehearsals.
• Participate in school meetings, training sessions, and professional development programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Dance, Performing Arts, or any equivalent qualification.
• Professional training in Classical / Contemporary / Folk / Western dance forms (any recognized certification preferred).
• Minimum 2–3 years of teaching experience in a school or dance academy (Freshers with strong skills may also apply).
• Strong choreography skills and the ability to handle group performances.
• Excellent communication skills and passion for teaching children.
