About Your Job:

In this role, you are responsible for designing data solutions that meets the business needs of the organisation. This includes translating business requirements into data products, creating data models, defining data architecture, and ensuring data integrity, security, scalability and performance tailored to the specific needs of the initiative. You also will work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, product owners and data analysts to ensure that data products are aligned with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Leveraging strong business acumen, translate business requirements to create solution artefacts to build data products.
• Develop solution proposals that provide details of project scope, approach, deliverables and timeline.
• Design data models, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and performance.
• Ensure the scalability and performance of data solutions.
• Ensure the data security of the data products.
• Ensure the solution is optimized for cost-efficiency.
• Select appropriate technologies and tools offered by organisations’ self-serve data platform for building the data products.
• Prepare key design decisions, and an ability to demonstrate structured consideration of multiple options (comparing competing technologies, functional design approaches etc).
• Guide the data engineers in solution development.
• Oversee and ensure the implementation of the solution defined.
• Provide solution oversight to IT and business stakeholders.

Experience & Knowledge:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent (Degree in engineering, computer applications, commerce, or business administration).
• 6+ years of experience Big Data, data warehouse, data analytics projects, with at least 3 years in solution architect role.
• Strong knowledge of GCP services: BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Cloud Composer, Pub/Sub, Dataproc.
• Hands-on experience with programming languages (Python, SQL).
• Prior experience building large scale enterprise data architectures using commercial and/or open-source Data Analytics technologies.
• Solid understanding of security principles, IAM, and compliance frameworks.
• Hands-on experience in developing and implementing large-scale data warehouses, Business Intelligence solutions, including Data Lakes/Lakehouses.
• Strong understanding of data quality principles and methodologies.
• Data modelling and solutioning skills including strong foundation in data warehousing concepts, data normalisation, and dimensional data modelling such as Kimball, Inmon, data vault etc.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex data issues.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
• Knowledge of data mesh architecture.
• Knowledge of airline domain.
• Knowledge of agile/lean development methodologies.
• GCP certifications are a plus.
