Job Description Canadian University Dubai (CUD) invites distinguished academic leaders to apply for
the position of
Dean of the School of Communication & Creative Industries. This is a prestigious opportunity to shape the

As Dean, you will be responsible for the strategic leadership and academic excellence of the School, ensuring that its
programs remain innovative, industry-relevant, and globally competitive.
Your Role: As Dean, you will serve
as the chief academic and administrative officer of the School, responsible for:
- Leading the development and continuous improvement
of academic programs in line with international standards, and the Outcome-Based Education Framework (OBEF) - Driving high-quality
research output, securing funding, and promoting interdisciplinary collaboration. - Supporting faculty in achieving and sustaining
excellence in scholarly research, publications, and creative works. - Overseeing faculty recruitment, mentorship, and performance
evaluation. - Managing school budgets, annual reports, and operational planning.
- Cultivating partnerships with industry,
media, and creative sectors, as well as academic institutions worldwide. - Developing student recruitment strategies in collaboration
with marketing and admissions. - Ensuring full compliance with the UAE Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) and institutional
policies. - Teaching and supervising at a level consistent with a senior academic appointment.
What We're Looking
For: - A PhD in a relevant discipline (e.g., communication, media, journalism, design, creative
industries). - Associate Professor rank or higher, with a strong record of peer-reviewed research and
publications. - Demonstrated excellence in research leadership, with a proven ability to foster a strong research
culture. - Minimum 5 years of academic leadership experience (as Dean, Associate Dean, or
similar). - A solid track record in accreditation, curriculum design, and program
development. - Experience building industry and academic partnerships and leading externally funded
projects. - Deep understanding of Canadian or North American education systems (preferred).
- Strong interpersonal,
organizational, and communication skills with a collaborative mindset.
