  • Job Summary

The Dentist is responsible for providing high-quality oral health care to patients, including diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of dental diseases. The role involves performing routine and complex dental procedures, maintaining accurate patient records, and ensuring compliance with clinical standards and safety protocols.

Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Duties

  • Examine, diagnose, and treat diseases, injuries, and malformations of teeth, gums, and related oral structures.
  • Perform procedures such as fillings, extractions, root canals, crowns, bridges, dentures, and preventive care.
  • Administer anesthesia and ensure patient comfort and safety during procedures.
  • Interpret dental radiographs and diagnostic tests.
  • Provide emergency dental care when required.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans for patients.
  • Ensure strict sterilization and infection-control protocols.

Patient Care & Communication

  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene, disease prevention, and post-treatment care.
  • Explain treatment options and costs in a clear, compassionate manner.
  • Maintain a high standard of patient care and professional ethics.

Record Keeping & Administrative Duties

  • Maintain accurate and updated patient records, charts, and treatment notes.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and organizational standards.
  • Collaborate with dental assistants, hygienists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in case discussions and multidisciplinary meetings as required.

Quality & Safety

  • Adhere to clinical protocols, health and safety guidelines, and infection-control standards.
  • Report equipment issues and ensure proper maintenance of dental instruments.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the department.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) or equivalent from a recognized institution.
  • Valid registration/license with the relevant Dental Council/Authority.
  • Minimum [01] years of clinical experience (optional based on job level).
  • Proficiency in dental radiography and modern dental equipment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage stressful situations and provide calm patient care.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
