Design & Estimation Engineer (home automation, ELV, or data centers)

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated Estimation / Pre-Sales Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be the technical bridge between our clients and our delivery team, responsible for designing solutions, estimating costs, and addressing client requirements during the early stages of projects. You will work closely with consultants, clients, and internal teams to craft tailored solutions in the fields of home automation, office automation, ELV systems, or data center infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Solution Design & Proposal Development:
• Collaborate with consultants, architects, and clients to understand requirements and propose optimal solutions.
• Prepare system layouts, diagrams, and specifications for automation, ELV, and data center solutions.
• Define project scope, technology stack, and integration requirements.

• Estimation & Costing:
• Prepare accurate and competitive project estimates, including BOQs, pricing, and resource planning.
• Evaluate and optimize design solutions to balance functionality, cost, and feasibility.
• Work with suppliers and vendors to source technical components and ensure accurate pricing.

• Client Engagement & Technical Support:
• Serve as the first technical point of contact for clients during the pre-sales phase.
• Address technical queries, provide demonstrations, and clarify solution capabilities.
• Assist clients in understanding the benefits, operation, and implementation of proposed solutions.

• Collaboration & Coordination:
• Work closely with internal teams (project delivery, engineering, and operations) to ensure feasibility of proposed solutions.
• Support the transition from pre-sales to execution, providing detailed design and documentation.
• Participate in project kick-offs and early-stage workshops with clients.
• Continuous Improvement & Knowledge Sharing:
• Stay updated with industry trends, products, and technologies related to automation, ELV, and data center infrastructure.
• Contribute to internal knowledge bases, design templates, and estimation tools.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, or relevant Engineering discipline.
• 3–7 years of experience in pre-sales, estimation, or systems design in one or more of the following domains:
• Home automation (residential smart home solutions, lighting control, HVAC, security, KNX, home cinemas)
• Office/Commercial automation (schools, hotels, malls, offices, hospitals)
• ELV systems (CCTV, access control, fire alarms, PA, structured cabling, AV, BMS)
• Data center physical infrastructure (racks, UPS, PDU, precision cooling, raised floors, lighting, fire suppression)
• Strong understanding of design principles, system integration, and technical documentation.
• Proven experience in preparing project estimates, BOQs, and proposals.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both clients and internal teams.
• Willingness to occasionally visit client sites or attend project workshops.

Pay: AED3,000.00 - AED4,500.00 per month
