Position Overview:

The ideal candidate will have expertise in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, hydraulics, and mechanical systems to ensure operational efficiency and safety standards are met.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with diesel engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions, and electrical components.
• Perform scheduled maintenance, inspections, and repairs on heavy machinery, construction equipment, and company vehicles.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs using workshop documentation systems.
• Ensure all repairs are completed in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company safety guidelines.
• Collaborate with the workshop team to prioritize urgent repairs and minimize downtime.
• Conduct on-site repairs for equipment when required at construction sites.
• Order and replace faulty parts, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior mechanics, if applicable.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols within the workshop and on construction sites.

Qualifications and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in diesel mechanics or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience working with heavy machinery, plant equipment, and diesel vehicles in a construction or industrial setting.
• Proficient in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and related components.
• Familiarity with diagnostic tools and software for diesel engines and vehicle systems.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems in construction equipment.
• Valid driver’s license (heavy vehicle license is a plus).

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift heavy parts and equipment as needed.
• Comfortable working in outdoor or workshop environments, including dusty or noisy conditions.
• Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, or shifts, as required.
