Digital Templating Technician/Designer

About the Role

Here at Toledo Custom Countertops, we are seeking a detail-oriented Laser Templating Technician to join our team. In this role, you will visit job sites to complete digital laser measurements for countertops projects, create accurate digital templates, and assist with basic design/drawing work to ensure smooth production and installation.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of fieldwork, technology, and light drafting/design tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform on-site laser measurements of kitchens, bathrooms, and other fabrication areas using digital templating equipment.
• Create accurate digital templates and transfer files to the production/design team.
• Communicate with homeowners, builders, and project managers during site visits.
• Verify jobsite conditions, cabinetry readiness, and installation requirements.
• Assist with basic design/drawing tasks, including editing digital layouts, reviewing CAD files, and marking required cutouts, seams, and overhangs.
• Maintain templating equipment, ensure accurate calibration, and follow safety procedures.
• Document field notes, measurements, and job details in company systems.
• Collaborate with the fabrication team to resolve measurement or design discrepancies.

Qualifications

• Experience with laser templating systems (e.g., LT-55, Proliner, or similar) preferred, but training is available.
• Basic experience with CAD, digital drafting, or simple drawing programs required.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to problem-solve on site and evaluate installation conditions.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift 20–40 lbs and safely navigate active job sites.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
