PURPOSE:
Alpha USA is seeking a visionary Director of Development Marketing to lead the national development marketing strategy — shaping how Alpha's story is told to donors across the U.S., inviting them into Alpha's mission, and ensuring retention growth and aligning with long and short range influence organizational priorities. This role centers around one core mission: engaging, cultivating and serving current and prospective donors in the US. You'll work closely with Alpha's Development and Marketing teams, designing digital campaigns and inviting donors into the mission of Alpha USA . This role is pivotal in advancing Alpha's vision — leveraging a national and international case to fuel Alpha and invite millions into conversations about faith. The position drives donor awareness, engagement, and partnership.
Operating Model & Boundaries (How We Want to Work)
- Define and Drive Strategy: Lead Alpha USA's development marketing strategy. Ensure brand, voice, and messaging are aligned with Alpha's brand and goals.

Strategy and Tactical Leadership: Lead strategy as part of a high-performing development team; support with freelancers and agencies.

Simplify and Optimize: Design digital journeys with clear KPIs and regular testing.

Steward the Ecosystem: Recommend and steward development marketing stack (CMS, CRM, email, analytics).

Lead Through Multiplication: Prioritize and leverage high-impact stories for the donor audience and empower them to tell theirs.
Key Leadership Responsibilities
- Lead with Story: Shape Alpha's national donor-facing voice; curate and leverage stories across video, print, web, email, and social.

Drive Awareness and Growth: Lead national strategies to expand Alpha's reach.

Mobilize and Steward the Message and Mission: Define brand tone and visual identity for Development Marketing, and related media.

Lead and Develop Team Capacity: Cultivate a learning culture; oversee contractors and agencies; build succession and collaboration.

Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
- 10+ years in development marketing/communications with success in digital campaigns and messaging strategy.

Translator mindset: synthesize vision into clear narratives and campaigns.

Experience guiding small teams and managing vendors.

Proficient with digital platforms (social, email, CMS/CRM, analytics).

Excellent writing, editing, and presentation skills.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing
