About the Role:
Finzly is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as the Director of Infrastructure. As the leader of our Cloud Infrastructure department, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our cloud-based infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, scalability, security, and reliability. The successful candidate will play a critical role in driving our organization's cloud strategy and guiding the adoption of best practices in cloud technologies.
Responsibilities:
Cloud Strategy and Leadership:
Develop and execute a comprehensive cloud infrastructure strategy aligned with the organization's goals and objectives.
Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to a team of cloud engineers and administrators.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define cloud requirements and ensure alignment with business needs.
Architecture and Design:
Architect and design cloud infrastructure solutions that meet performance, security, compliance, and scalability requirements.
Evaluate and select appropriate cloud services, tools, and technologies to build and enhance the cloud environment.
Drive the implementation of best practices for cloud architecture and design patterns.
Infrastructure Management:
Oversee the deployment, configuration, and management of cloud resources across multiple platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and fault tolerance for critical applications and services.
Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure performance, cost, and efficiency.
Security and Compliance:
Establish and enforce security measures to protect cloud resources and data, including identity and access management, encryption, and compliance controls.
Stay updated on industry security trends and vulnerabilities to proactively address potential risks.
Team Development:
Build and nurture a high-performing cloud infrastructure team through hiring, training, and skill development.
Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment that encourages knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
Vendor Management:
Collaborate with cloud service providers and vendors to negotiate contracts, manage relationships, and stay informed about updates and new offerings.
Budget and Cost Management:
Develop and manage budgets for cloud infrastructure projects, operations, and resources.
Optimize cloud spending by implementing cost-effective solutions and monitoring usage patterns.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain comprehensive documentation of cloud architecture, processes, and procedures.
Generate regular reports for leadership, highlighting key performance metrics and initiatives.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure solutions in a leadership role.
Deep understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including services, networking, security, and automation.
Strong architectural skills with the ability to translate business requirements into scalable and secure cloud solutions.
Experience with infrastructure-as-code (IAC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect) are a plus.
Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines is desirable.
