Events by Classic Group is a well-established catering and event venue company on the Monterey Peninsula, creating memorable weddings, corporate events, and private celebrations at our venues The Perry House, Monterey Beach Station, and The Barns at Cooper Molera, as well as at off-premise locations across the region.

About the Role
This is a hands-on Director of Marketing and Growth position. You will lead the company’s first marketing function, building the department from the ground up and shaping how our brand shows up in the market. You’ll have the autonomy to design campaigns, experiment with new strategies, and make a tangible impact on growth, while collaborating closely with our executive chef, event managers, and sales team to ensure all messaging reflects the quality of our events.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy that elevates the brand, drives business growth, and builds a strong digital presence
  • Lead digital marketing efforts with measurable goals including increasing brand awareness, driving website traffic, generating leads and sales, building customer loyalty, and measuring ROI to optimize campaigns
  • Build and oversee the company’s content strategy including photography, videography, social media, blogs, and website updates
  • Manage campaigns across multiple digital platforms including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, online ads, and pay-per-click campaigns
  • Oversee SEO and website optimization to ensure strong search engine visibility
  • Develop email marketing campaigns targeting corporate and prospective social clients, including nurturing leads that have inquired but not booked
  • Collaborate with sales, event management, and culinary teams to ensure brand consistency and cohesive messaging
  • Identify and execute marketing opportunities and content marketing initiatives
  • Lead vendor relationships with creative agencies, photographers, and other external partners as needed
  • Recruit, train, and mentor a results-driven sales and marketing team, including Sales Managers and the Sales and Marketing Coordinator
  • Set clear expectations, provide regular feedback, and foster a collaborative and empowered team culture
  • Take ownership of team performance and sales goals, ensuring the team meets or exceeds targets
  • Manage the department budget to ensure strategic allocation of resources and ROI on all initiatives
  • Analyze sales metrics to optimize efforts and drive continuous improvement
  • Analyze marketing performance using data analytics tools and adjust campaigns to maximize results
  • Act as a brand ambassador internally and externally, fostering a culture of storytelling and high-quality communication

Qualifications

  • Five or more years of experience in marketing, ideally with hands-on experience in both strategy and execution
  • Proven ability to build marketing programs from scratch and deliver measurable results, particularly in digital marketing
  • Two or more years of experience leading and managing teams, including motivating them to achieve performance targets and meet goals.
  • Strong expertise in digital marketing including social media, SEO, email marketing, content marketing, PPC campaigns, and online ads
  • Ability to analyze data, measure ROI, and adjust strategies based on insights
  • Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment, and leading cross-functional collaboration
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines without losing attention to detail
  • Passion for creating a positive company culture
  • Experience in events and hospitality is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $122,000.00 per year
