A respected, mission-driven organization is seeking a Director of Marketing & Communications to lead its institutional positioning, brand strategy, communications platform, membership growth initiatives, and signature events. This is a highly visible leadership role with direct impact on brand reputation, stakeholder engagement, and organizational growth.
The ideal candidate is a strategic yet hands-on leader with experience in institutional branding, B2B marketing, communications, events, and team leadership. This role reports directly to the Executive Vice President.
Key ResponsibilitiesMarketing & Communications Strategy
- Develop, implement, and oversee an integrated marketing and communications strategy aligned with institutional goals and priorities.
- Define the organization’s voice, narrative, tone, and messaging across all audiences including members, media, government, private sector, and community stakeholders.
- Lead institutional brand positioning and campaign development for products, services, and initiatives.
- Ensure alignment and consistency across digital platforms, website, newsletters, press releases, presentations, promotional materials, and internal communications.
- Oversee the creation of high-impact strategic content.
Team Leadership & Development
- Directly supervise marketing and communications staff, including designers, coordinators, and content resources.
- Establish performance metrics, quarterly and annual goals, and productivity monitoring systems.
- Identify skill gaps and lead professional development plans for team members.
- Promote a culture of collaboration, innovation, accountability, and excellence.
Institutional Podcast Development
- Lead the vision, positioning, and execution of the organization’s official podcast.
- Design content strategy, editorial calendar, guest selection, and thematic direction aligned with the institutional mission.
- Coordinate logistics, recording, editing, publishing, and distribution across platforms.
- Integrate the podcast into the broader marketing and communications ecosystem for maximum engagement and reach.
Membership Growth & Strategic Alliances
- Design and execute strategies to strengthen member retention, satisfaction, and loyalty.
- Lead initiatives to attract new members to the organization.
- Identify and manage strategic partnerships with public and private sector organizations.
Events Strategy & Execution
- Serve as the primary liaison with vendors related to sponsorship sales, production, logistics, and execution of institutional events.
- Ensure excellence in event execution, sponsor satisfaction, and member experience.
- Collaborate on the design of revenue-generating and high-impact institutional events.
- Oversee event timelines, production plans, and budgets.
Research, Metrics & Market Intelligence
- Analyze industrial, economic, and consumer trends to identify opportunities and risks.
- Monitor KPIs related to brand positioning, engagement, membership growth, and campaign performance.
- Use data-driven insights to continuously optimize strategy and execution.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 8–10 years of progressive experience in marketing, communications, branding, or institutional positioning.
- Prior leadership experience managing creative and strategic teams.
- Strong background in B2B, institutional, association, manufacturing, or corporate marketing environments.
- Demonstrated experience with events strategy, sponsorship development, and partner engagement.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish, both written and verbal.
- Strong strategic thinking, organizational skills, and execution discipline.

Pay: $46,849.78 - $76,421.24 per year
