Job Description:

The Director, Operational Health & Excellence (OHE) provides enterprise-level leadership for employee engagement, workforce development, operations training, and continuous improvement strategies. This role leads a team of OHE Managers and the OHE Project Team, guiding both the strategic and technical direction of programs that strengthen operational performance, culture, and employee experience.

The Director oversees program design, implementation, measurement, and reporting, ensuring consistency across locations and alignment with organizational objectives. This role also directs technical functions related to data analytics, process documentation, measurement methodologies, survey processes, and enterprise reporting frameworks. He/She represents OHE in senior forums, influences cross-functional priorities, and ensures high-quality, scalable, and results-driven solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Sets the strategic direction for Operational Health & Excellence, including employee engagement, leadership development, and workforce capability programs.
  • Oversees process management, workflow design, data collection methods, measurement reliability, and analytics frameworks used across OHE initiatives.
  • Directs creation and improvement of dashboards, reporting tools, surveys, engagement insights, and performance metrics.
  • Approves training, engagement, and operational programs; ensures alignment with adult learning principles and enterprise standards.
  • Monitors organizational performance indicators and guides development of action plans and improvement strategies.
  • Partners with senior Operations, HR, Training, Quality, and other business units to drive enterprise-aligned program execution.
  • Ensures cultural sensitivity and global applicability in training, engagement, and communication strategies.
  • Provides executive-level presentations, program updates, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Serves as the escalation and decision-making point for complex analytical, measurement, or program design considerations.
  • Coordinate employee relations campaigns as needed.

Qualifications Requirements

  • Experience leading multi-site or enterprise-wide employee engagement, learning, or operational excellence programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead managers, supervisors, and data/technical roles.
  • Strong technical acumen in data interpretation, measurement strategy, reporting, and process management.
  • Strong planning, organizational, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to translate complex data and program outcomes into executive-ready insights.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Teams) with ability to learn new tools quickly.
  • Ability to travel as needed, including extended over-night travel.

Preferences

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree in OD, HR, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Operational or supply chain experience strongly preferred.
  • 7+ years experience in engagement, operational excellence, organizational culture initiatives.
  • Experience with Power BI, survey platforms, data visualization, or advanced Excel preferred.
  • Project Management experience or certification highly preferred.
