    Job Description:

    Purpose of the Position :

    Director University Advancement leads the university’s advancement division, overseeing all fundraising, donor stewardship, alumni engagement, and scholarship disbursement functions. As the face of the NUST Trust Fund (NTF), this role plays a pivotal part in mobilizing resources for endowments, capital projects and scholarships, fostering long-term donor relationships, and ensuring compliance with global giving standards. The role requires a dynamic, globally oriented leader with expertise in foundation governance and philanthropic strategy.

    Qualification:

    Essential:

    • Master’s degree in following disciplines: Business Administration, Marketing, Development Studies, Communications, Public Relations, STEM, or Governance.

    Desirable:

    • Doctorate (PhD) in relevant business, management, social sciences, STEM, innovation, or philanthropy field.

    Experience:

    Essential:

    - 12 - 18 years of total experience
    • At least 05 years of leadership experience in fundraising, university advancement, or nonprofit development.
    • Proven experience in capital campaign management, donor relations, and major gift strategy.
    • Familiarity with foundation law, international giving vehicles, and trust fund governance.
    • Demonstrated success in alumni program development and stakeholder engagement.
    • Experience working with donor reporting systems.

    Desirable:

    • Preference may be given to candidates with certifications/ experience in Non-Profit Management.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop annual goals and objectives in accordance with NUST’s fundraising priorities and the strategic plan.
    • Lead and execute fundraising strategy for capital projects, minor gifts, and endowments.
    • Provides vision, leadership, and oversight to Alumni Relations, the NUST Alumni Association Governing Board and its committees, and other partners and committees to plan and execute the vision and strategy of NUST related to alumni engagement.
    • Oversee alumni outreach, global engagement, and institutional giving programs.
    • Ensure full donor lifecycle management: cultivation, engagement, recognition, reporting.
    • Serve as principal liaison with the NUST Trust Fund, donors, foundations, and philanthropic partners.
    • Collaborates, convenes and guides fundraising efforts across all NUST constituents to ensure alignment with overall NUST priorities.
    • Manage campaign design, storytelling, creative content, and donor communication platforms.
    • Ensure regulatory compliance across jurisdictions, including 501(c)(3) and other national and international not-for-profit frameworks.

    • Strategic planning & fundraising acumen.
    • Stakeholder and donor relationship management.
    • Legal literacy in nonprofit/foundation regulations.
    • Cross-cultural communication and diplomacy.
    • Financial stewardship and reporting for endowments/scholarships.
    • Creative leadership in campaign and brand storytelling.
    • Technological fluency in advancement tools and analytics.
    • Global perspective with experience leading international campaigns.
    • Background in higher education development.
    • Understanding of 501(c)(3) and national and international funding channel protocols.
    • Strong ethical grounding and a reputation for integrity and stewardship.

    Terms and Conditions:

    Candidates may be considered ineligible for the post due to any of the following reasons:

    • 3rd Div in academic career / weak academic profile.
    • NUST employees with less than one year of service with NUST and / or absence of NOC from Head of Institution.
    • In process of pursuing a required degree.
    • Medically unfit.
    • Only selected candidates will be contacted and issued offer letter.
    • Candidates serving in Govt departments, Armed forces may apply after seeking NOC from their respective parent department / organizations.
    • Late / incomplete applications will be ignored.
