SALARY RANGE: $38,574.00
The Office of the District Attorney, Prosecutorial District 4, seeks a qualified candidate to provide legal support services to the prosecutors in the Carteret County office. Duties include but are not limited to the following: answer phones; assist the public; type correspondence; prepare legal documents; prepare files; assist victims and witnesses understand and prepare for court; gather information to assist in the prosecution of cases; and other duties as assigned.
Knowledge of: court system and procedures; legal terminology; and community resources to refer victims and witnesses.
Skill in: Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; accurately typing 35-40 wpm; and answering a multi-line telephone system.
Ability to: interview to elicit information from victims and witnesses to assure appropriate services; coordinate and schedule the daily operations of the victim and witness program; manage the court appearances of victims and witnesses to ensure their presence in the courtroom when needed; communicate orally and in writing with persons of diverse backgrounds; establish and maintain effective working relationships with law enforcement officers, officials of related agencies and the general public; and calmly handle stressful situations.
Minimum Education and Experience
