We are now hiring an
in-house EDI & Operations Specialist
in our Islamabad office who is comfortable working with
EDI documents (especially 204)
and enjoys structured, detail-oriented work in the logistics/trucking space, aligned with
US Pacific hours
.
Role Overview
You will be the go-to person for one of our logistics clients for anything related to
EDI 204 load tenders
and the operational data that flows from them. Your job is to:

Understand what’s inside an EDI 204
-
Validate that fields are mapped correctly into internal schemas (JSON/CSV/Sheets)
-
Flag and fix inconsistencies
-
Help maintain clear SOPs so the process can be repeated and scaled.
This is a
hands-on, detail-heavy in-house role
that sits between operations and technical teams. No coding is required, but you must be very comfortable working with structured data.
Key Responsibilities

EDI 204 Handling & QA
-
Read and interpret
EDI 204 Motor Carrier Load Tender
documents.
-
Validate that incoming 204s are correctly mapped into internal formats (JSON, CSV, Google Sheets, etc.).

Check key fields such as customer references, site names/addresses, dates/times, equipment, weights, and codes against a rulebook or SOP.

Identify missing, incorrect, or inconsistent data and document issues clearly.

Data Mapping & Documentation
-
Compare EDI fields to the client’s schema and mapping rules, and suggest corrections where needed.
-
Help translate “business rules” into clear mapping logic that others can follow.

Maintain and update
SOPs, checklists, and QA guidelines
for EDI 204 processing.

Collaboration & Communication
-
Work closely with project managers, developers, and client stakeholders (mostly US-based) to clarify edge cases and data issues.

Document findings in a structured format (e.g., tracking changes, before/after mapping, rationale for decisions).

Join recurring calls with the client during US Pacific business hours as needed.

Process Improvement
-
Proactively suggest ways to make validation and mapping faster and more reliable.

Help test new automations or tooling changes related to EDI 204 handling.
Requirements

Experience & Knowledge
-
Prior experience with
EDI
in a logistics, trucking, freight, or supply chain context.
-
Comfortable with EDI 204
(Motor Carrier Load Tender) – you should know what kind of information typically lives inside a 204.

Strong understanding of structured data formats such as
JSON, CSV, Excel/Google Sheets
.

Skills

Excellent attention to detail; able to spot discrepancies in fields and mappings.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
-
Comfortable reading rulebooks/specifications and turning them into clear steps.
-
Good written and spoken English; able to communicate clearly with international clients.

Ability and willingness to work
night shifts aligned with US Pacific hours
from our Islamabad office.

Tools

Confident working with Google Sheets / Excel.

Comfortable using collaboration tools (Slack, ClickUp/Jira/Asana, Google Workspace, etc.).
Nice-to-Have
-
Experience with other EDI transaction sets in logistics (e.g., 990, 214, 210, etc.).

Background in
truckload, drayage, LTL/FTL, or container logistics
.
-
Experience working in/with a
TMS
(Transportation Management System).

Familiarity with basic API/webhook concepts or working alongside developers.
