Job Overview
We are seeking a EEC Director Certified Assistant Director to join our team and help lead the daily operations of our childcare center. This is a vital leadership position that blends administrative, educational, and operational responsibilities. You will work directly with the Center Director to foster a positive, enriching, and safe environment for our children, families, and staff. The ideal candidate is a proactive and organized professional with a passion for early childhood education and a talent for team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Staff Support
- Partner with the Center Director to manage all daily center operations, including staff scheduling, supervision, and administrative tasks.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment through active mentoring, coaching, and conflict resolution.
- Serve as the acting director in the absence of the Center Director, overseeing all program activities and staff.
- Provide classroom coverage as needed to ensure a smooth and consistent learning environment.
- Collaborate on organizing and implementing engaging school events, field trips, and special visits.
Curriculum & Program Development
- Conduct classroom observations and assist in the implementation of a high-quality, age-appropriate curriculum that aligns with state standards.
- Ensure classrooms are equipped with stimulating and developmentally appropriate materials.
- Contribute to the ongoing evaluation and improvement of our center's curriculum.
Operations & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with all state and local childcare regulations, including EEC standards.
- Maintain a safe, healthy, and organized environment for all children and staff.
- Oversee all required administrative documentation for children, staff, and licensing to ensure timeliness and accuracy.
Family & Financial Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with parents and guardians, serving as a primary point of contact for concerns and support.
- Mediate and resolve conflicts between parents and teachers to ensure effective communication.
- Manage all aspects of tuition billing, including processing payments, managing outstanding balances, and overseeing state-sponsored voucher programs.
- Collaborate with the Center Director on budget management and strategies to maintain and increase enrollment.
Administrative Support
- Complete all necessary documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
- Assist with managing enrollment projections, waitlists, and space availability.
- Oversee and regularly update the center's website and social media presence to engage with our community.
- Collaborate on the planning and organization of monthly staff meetings.
Qualifications
- Must meet all requirements for the EEC Director.
- Minimum of an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (or currently enrolled in a degree program). A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a childcare setting, with demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- In-depth knowledge of child development best practices and state childcare regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word.
- CPR and First Aid certified (or willingness to obtain certification upon hire).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
