Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates
The Lifting Equipment and Scaffold Inspector is responsible for inspecting, examining, and certifying lifting equipment, lifting accessories, and scaffolding structures in compliance with local regulations, international standards (such as LOLER, BS EN, ISO, and OSHA), and company procedures. The inspector ensures that all equipment and structures are safe for use, properly maintained, and meet operational and safety requirements.
Role and Responsibilities
- To ensure all asset inspection requirements are executed in strict compliance with EIAC, and inspection standards.
- To ensure inspection activities are planned, scheduled and co-ordinate efficiently.
- Ensure agreed inspection strategies, procedures, standards and plans are implemented and completed and any failures, variations, and amendments are fed back to client.
- Perform periodic and statutory inspections on lifting equipment (e.g., mobile cranes, tower cranes, hoists, forklifts, winches) and lifting accessories (e.g., slings, shackles, hooks).
- To liaise with subcontractors and client to ensure quality, performance & value from the delivery of company inspection services.
- To provide technical support and advice on technical integrity related inspection issues to the Asset, Operations teams.
- To support the development of an effective inspection team to enable a clear vision of how to contribute to objectives.
- Maintain direct and regular contact with technical Teams in order to ensure an effective Inspection Service.
- Conduct inspection of scaffolding systems (tube & fitting, system scaffolds, mobile towers) for compliance with BS EN 12811, EIAC , and local regulatory standards.
- Ensure onsite work activities are performed in accordance with the health, safety and environmental policy, company QHSE manual and asset specific control of work procedures and practices.
Qualifications
- B.Sc. Engineering Degree, Civil/Electrical Engineering
- Knowledge of scaffold -specific standards and regulations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Certified Scaffold Inspector (e.g., CISRS, CITB, or recognized local authority).
- Minimum 3 years of field experience in lifting and scaffold inspection.
- Certification in inspection or testing from a recognized certification body is preferred.
