Job Description: Design & Estimation Engineer
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare electrical schematic drawings, wiring diagrams, single-line diagrams (SLDs), and panel layouts using CAD/EDA tools such as AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN.
- Select appropriate electrical components (relays, contactors, MCCBs, VFDs, PLC modules, busbars, enclosures, etc.) based on technical, functional, and safety requirements.
- Design cable routing, wire sizing, terminal plans, grounding/earthing schemes, and control logic interlocks.
- Coordinate with PLC/SCADA design engineers for I/O mapping, logic development, and instrumentation integration.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards, industrial norms, local codes, and internal quality guidelines.
- Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs) and detailed component lists (make, model, ratings, and quantities).
- Participate in design reviews with senior engineers or QA teams to validate reliability and manufacturability.
- Support cost estimation and project proposals, ensuring accurate budgeting of material, labor, and overhead costs.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar CAD tools for electrical design.
- Strong knowledge of electrical circuits, power systems, control logic, protection schemes, and instrumentation.
- Understanding of PLC, HMI, SCADA, and DCS systems and their wiring/integration.
- Ability to interpret client specifications, datasheets, and industry standards.
- Familiarity with switchgear, control components, drives, sensors, and HMI systems used in industrial panels.
- Knowledge of earthing, insulation, and safety standards in electrical design.
- Cost estimation understanding — material, labor, and overheads.
Requisite Skills
- Electrical schematic drawing (control circuits, power wiring, interlocking).
- AutoCAD Electrical / EPLAN proficiency.
- Single-Line Diagram (SLD) preparation and wiring design.
- Panel layout and component placement design.
- Selection of switchgear components (MCCBs, MCBs, relays, timers, contactors).
- Understanding of relay-based and PLC-based control logic.
Qualification & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering
- Experience: 2 – 4 years of relevant experience in electrical panel design and automation systems development

- Salary: ₹2,40,000 – ₹3,80,000 LPA (CTC)
- Work Hours: 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM
