Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Projected Total Compensation: Base salary + up to 10% annual performance bonus

About the Role (Summary of project)

Gentis Solutions is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join a fast-paced and innovative engineering team in Saint Paul, MN . This position combines hands-on electrical design, industrial automation, and project management . The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of electrical engineering fundamentals, a passion for problem-solving, and experience building and programming complex electrical systems.

This hybrid position offers the opportunity to work both independently and collaboratively on high-voltage, three-phase industrial automation electrical panels , PCB design , and FPGA development —while contributing to innovative projects that make an impact.

What You’ll Do (Job Description):

  • Design and develop electrical systems and components according to project specifications.
  • Create and review schematics to ensure compliance with NEC and UL standards.
  • Use Altium and AutoCAD Electrical to produce detailed electrical layouts and PCB designs.
  • Program industrial automation systems , including servo motion systems and PLCs , using Structured Text .
  • Conduct testing and troubleshooting with tools such as DMMs, oscilloscopes, and software debuggers.
  • Collaborate across disciplines to manage schedules and ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
  • Design and implement FPGA systems for a variety of applications.
  • Maintain thorough documentation for designs, specifications, and test procedures.
  • Provide on-site technical support during installation and commissioning phases.

What We’re Looking For (Must Haves):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience building high-voltage, three-phase industrial automation panels .
  • Proficiency with EDA tools such as Altium and AutoCAD Electrical .
  • Experience programming in Python and C# for automation and test systems.
  • Familiarity with SystemVerilog for hardware description and FPGA applications.
  • Strong understanding of circuit design, analysis, and electrical principles .
  • Experience with project scheduling tools and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics .
  • Excellent problem-solving skills , attention to detail , and collaborative communication .
  • Self-motivated and results-driven with a strong desire to learn and innovate.

Preferred (Nice-to-Have Skills):

  • Experience in PCB schematic design and layout .
  • Familiarity with servo motion systems , industrial automation , and robotics .
  • Exposure to FPGA development and hardware validation .
