Job Description:

As our Electrical Engineer, you’ll join a small, high-impact team of engineers where ideas move fast, collaboration runs deep, and every contribution directly shapes the final product. This hands-on role plays a key part in developing and supporting the innovative systems that power our B2B and B2C products. You’ll work closely within our fabrication and R&D spaces across more than 200,000 square feet of clean, well-lit facilities designed for building, testing, and bringing new ideas to life. Responsibilities

Here are some examples of the actual work your day would include.

  • Design & Prototyping
    Lead hands-on prototype builds, testing, and validation for motors, control panels, wireless communication systems, water-garden controls, and dosing systems.
  • Electrical System Design
    Develop electrical circuits and systems from concept to production, including ideation, schematic design, layout, prototype development, test fixturing, and production oversight.
  • Cross-Functional Engineering Support
    Participate in multi-disciplinary R&D initiatives, collaborating with mechanical, software, and production teams to advance new product development.
  • Vendor Collaboration
    Work with external manufacturers to provide electrical and controls design direction, feedback, and technical support throughout the production process.
  • Project Documentation
    Prepare and maintain detailed documentation and progress reports on product development, aligning with defined scope, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Installation Oversight & Compliance
    Inspect completed installations and monitor operations to verify conformance with design and safety standards, including ETL/UL and internal quality requirements.
  • Troubleshooting & Root Cause Analysis
    Diagnose, analyze, and resolve electrical and control system issues to ensure ongoing product reliability and performance.

Job Requirements

To be successful in this role, you need to have a certain amount of knowledge and skills:

  • Electrical Design Expertise
    8 plus years of experience in AC and DC electronic design, including analog, digital, and/or high-voltage circuit technology and assembly processes.
  • CAD Proficiency
    Experience with computer-aided design (CAD) tools is preferred.
  • Engineering Principles
    Strong understanding of electrical engineering design principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Manufacturing Familiarity
    Experience in design for manufacturing is required.
  • Education
    Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, or Mechatronics is required.
  • Technical Communication
    Strong understanding of common electrical and mechanical terminology and documentation standards.
  • Hands-On Approach
    Comfortable working both in a lab or shop environment and in an office setting.

This Electrical Engineer position requires proficiency in typing, the ability to sit at a desk, and the capacity to focus on a computer screen. This position requires manual dexterity for working with small components, the ability to complete repetitive motions for long periods of time, bending, continual lifting, lowering, and carrying products that typically weigh 25 - 50 lb., and managing products up to 150 lb., as well as standing/stooping for long periods of time.

Availability

This on-site position is located at 15425 Chets Way, Armada, MI, 48005. You must be available to work 8 hours between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with occasional evening or Saturday work for projects that require work outside of regular business hours.
