* Understanding of *AC/DC motor types* (induction, synchronous, PMDC, brushless DC, etc.).

* Ability to *match motor power (kW rating)* to hydraulic system output and performance requirements.

* Knowledge of *torque-speed characteristics* and *power-to-flow relationships* for hydraulic drives.

* Familiarity with *motor efficiency classes (IE3, IE4, etc.)* and thermal limits.
