Electrical Site Engineer

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Site Engineer with a strong background in high-rise residential building projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the site team and ensuring the successful execution of LV (Low Voltage) and ELV (Extra Low Voltage) installations. A deep understanding of DEWA (Dubai Electricity and Water Authority) and DCD (Dubai Civil Defence) regulations is essential. The Electrical Site Engineer will independently manage on-site activities and report to the Project Manager and Project Engineer in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise the site team for electrical works, ensuring effective coordination and smooth workflow.
• Oversee the installation and commissioning of LV and ELV systems in accordance with project specifications and standards.
• Ensure compliance with DEWA and DCD regulations throughout the project lifecycle.
• Apply knowledge of DEWA and DCD regulations to ensure all electrical installations meet the required standards.
• Ensure safety protocols and guidelines are strictly followed on-site.
• Work closely with other disciplines on-site to ensure seamless integration of electrical works with the overall project.
• Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
• Provide regular updates and reports to the Project Manager and Project Engineer on the progress of the electrical works.
• Identify and escalate any issues or risks that may impact project timelines or quality.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure the quality and integrity of electrical installations.
• Address any issues or discrepancies promptly to avoid project delays.
• Resolve any technical or site-related challenges that arise during the execution of electrical works.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 8-10 years of experience, well-versed in DEWA procedures for LV & HV inspections, reading drawings, and proficient in electrical material take-offs and procurement list preparation. Should have hands-on experience in daily site activities, labor allocation, and managing subcontractors for low-current systems, including fire alarm, emergency/central battery systems, structured cabling systems, audio/video intercom systems, access control systems, SMATV, BMS, home automation systems, and gate barrier systems. Additionally, responsible for preparing variations and obtaining approvals from the consultant.
• In-depth knowledge of LV and ELV systems.
• Strong understanding of DEWA and DCD regulations.
• Ability to lead and manage a site team independently.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
